As the desire for energy becomes more thirsty, onshore oil turns to be hard to meet the increasingly demand for energy. People started to put eyes on offshore oil in the early 20th century.

According to statistics, world offshore oil accounts for 34% of the global oil resources and is about 100 billion tons, in which there are 38 billion tons has been proved.

China has rich offshore oil reserves. There are 23 billion to 30 billion tons in South China Sea, accounting for about one third of the total oil resources of China, according to the preliminary estimate of authority.

The beginning of Chinese offshore oil exploitation in the 1960s brings a vigorous development of Chinese marine and maritime equipment.

China International Petroleum & Petrochemical Technology and Equipment Exhibition (cippe) attracted more than 1,500 exhibitors and 12 international pavilions such as the USA, Germany and UK pavilion from 62 countries and regions around the world in 2012. With a magnificent exhibiting space of over 80,000 square meters, cippe Beijing has become the largest petroleum exhibition in the world.

What's concern, marine and maritime related exhibitors reached 670 enterprises making up nearly 45% in the total in the upcoming cippe2013, hitting a record high.

The well-known marine corporations planning to show their latest technology and equipments include Aker Solutions, Panasia, CNOOC, CSSC, CSIC, CSNAME, CCS, CIMC RAFFLES, ZPMC, Aqsu, Hempel, Jotun, Zhejiang Hengxin Ship Equipment and Yuexin Ocean Engineering.

Furthermore, CNOOC, China's biggest offshore producer, has participated in cippe for years and its "Offshore 981" drilling platform was the highlight on last exhibition.

China International Offshore Oil & Gas Exhibition (ciooe), the top offshore oil exhibition in Asia concurrently held with cippe, develops together with Chinese offshore oil's exploration and witnesses the development history of China offshore petroleum.

Offshore oil' exploitation expects better technology and equipment as China petroleum exploration goes a forward step, from onshore to offshore, from shallow to deep sea.

We can see the "offshore ship" is booming from the exhibition. A large number of China independent research and development high-end production has realized international advanced level and entered into global market.
